Overview
Shanghai Shuguang hospital affiliated with Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (T.C.M.) is one of the first class general hospitals in China with long history. It was established in 1906 and once named Siming Hospital, sponsored by countryman association of Ningbonese, Zhejiang province. In 1960, it was merged with Shanghai No.10 People¡¯s hospital (western medicine hospital) and Shanghai No. 11 People¡¯s hospital (T.C.M. hospital). Shuguang hospital is divided into two parts: eastern and western branch. The western branch, located in the central city is with the construction of 50,766 square meters and its capacity of 600 beds. The eastern branch, located in Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park, Pudong New Area, was opened on Apr.23, 2005. It is with construction of more than 83.000 square meters and capacity of 720 beds. As a famous hospital with modern management, it has won many fames, for example, Shanghai Civil Unit for 12 times from 1986 to 2006, national model T.C.M. hospital, one of the top 100 national hospitals. The hospital has completed accreditation of ISO9001 in 2001 and became the pioneer TCM hospital accredited by ISO9001 in China.
