Implementation of "initiate hospital by developing science and education", Shuguang hospital has 3 institutes of Shanghai T.C.M. graduate school (institute of traditions medicalis sinensis of hepatology, nephrology, orthopaedics and traumatology), 14 clinical research rooms, 3 three-grade T.C.M. scientific research labs, 8 two-grade and one-grade labs issued by State Administration of T.C.M. It has a key lab of Ministry of Health¡ªlab in liver and kidney diseases.
The hospital has got 4 items of eleventh-five supporting project, 2 items of Plan 973 and 17 items of National Natural Fund. It has won more than 150 scientific and technical achievements prizes, including 65 Ministry and National Scientific and Technical Progress Prizes and 10 items of patent licensing.
Shuguang hospital and Chinese Academy of Sciences have cooperated to establish Shuguang New Chinese Medicine Research Center.
Phase I clinical trial
Phase I clinical trial center is established according to the international standard with beautiful environment and modern facilities. It is equipped with reception, entertainment, first-aid, therapy and blood drawing room, etc. There are 34 beds including 12 beds for tolerance test and other 22 beds for pharmacokinetics test or bioequivalence test. Phase I clinical trial center is affiliated with Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Phrase I clinical drug test ward has been set up according to the international standard. We have finished the first clinical trial item in China entrusted by W.H.O.
